Our journey began on the green campus of Jahangirnagar University with a simple question: *What if every plastic bottle tossed on the ground had an immediate, traceable destination?*
#The Spark: Project Eco Link & The Recycle Hero Contest In August 2024, our founding team organized the **Recycle Hero Contest** at Jahangirnagar University. We placed color-coded smart collection bins across key academic buildings, tea stalls, and student residential halls.
Over a 14-day sprint, more than 250 students and campus staff participated, bringing separated clean PET bottles, beverage cans, and cardboard packaging to our designated sorting node.
#The Milestones & Numbers - **120+ kg** of clean PET plastic and paper packaging diverted from open dumping pits. - **250+ students** actively registered and weighed their collected materials. - **Top 3 Student Ambassadors** recognized with certificates of environmental leadership and seed credits. - Partnered with local informal waste dealers to ensure 100% of the collected plastic reached licensed mechanical recyclers in Savar.
"Seeing students eagerly carrying bags of plastic to our collection point proved that the will to recycle exists — people just need an accessible, transparent, and rewarding platform." — **Recycle Network Founding Team**
